No, not those cramps…I mean the band, The Cramps.  I love The Cramps.  Seriously, The Human Fly has been one of my favorite songs since I was a kiddlet.  Geek Boy, however, does not share my love for them.  By that I mean he refuses to be in the car with me if I’m going to play their music.  Weirdo.  How can he not love a song about the surfing dead?  I dunno. My love of zombies is comepletely lost on the boy.  So how do you think I felt when BTB emailed me to find out what bands I like because he’s making a CD for me?  Exactly. I felt like a silly school girl.  Now add to that the fact that he loves B-movies, old horror movies, zombies, cartoons, and The Cramps.   Does my Geek Boy like any of this?  Nope.  Except for cartoons, he pretty much hates all of it.

I know I shouldn’t have a crush on anyone (except John Cusack) because I’m married, much less act on it.  And I won’t.  I can say with all certainty that I will not cheat on Geek Boy.  I made a promise to myself  that I would never put anyone through the crap Eric put me through.  But boy, am I digging the attention.

Tomorrow I have an interview with a review board for my reclassification at work.  A friend of mine and I put in to have our position  reclassified to a higher level and tomorrow we have 10 minutes to convince the board that we deserve it.  Good times.

So now I’m stressed like you would not believe—it even made a patch of my hair fall out. Niiiice.   Stress, irrational phobias, and a crush on some guy.  I’m really a piece of work.

I’m thinking about going to an acupuncturist to help me with whole anxiety thing.   Has anyone tried it?

As for the smoothies—well, I’m having one right now. It’s damn good.

Bad Timing Boy came by again today. He said he saw something that reminded him of me—some tacky keychain or something.  I would be insulted, but since he knows about my love for all things tacky, I thought it was cool.  Anyway, he gave me one of his business cards and Peanuts comic strip.  Yeah, I don’t know either.  He just said something about how it meant a lot to him.

Why is this making my radar go nuts?

I just ran into a guy I had a crush on for a while. It must have been something like 4 or 5 years since I’d seen him—he was in the area today and dropped by to say hello. In talking about what we’ve been up to, he confessed he had a crush on me back then. I wasn’t sure about the right thing to say, but I suppose I should have said “awww…how sweet” or something. So what came out of my mouth?

“Really? I had a crush on you too! You should have said something, you idiot.”

I wonder if it’s too late to sign up for charm school…

My stupid phone is acting up again. Bloody Apple. You’d think it would finally get the iPhone thing right. Geek Boy tried to update my iPhone last Friday. Everything seemed to be going well, then I heard my usually reserved husband swearing like a sailor. There was a glitch in iTunes or some Apple software or something that turned my phone into the iBrick. It was unusable, save for emergency calls. Oi vey.
Now there’s the every day drama at work. You know the kind that sounds like, “Ummm, no I didn’t file it..that’s not MY job”? (Oh yeah, add an eye roll here. Sheesh. I feel like I’m talking to a teeneager, not a 30 year old woman.) Grrr. I hate to break to you, chickiepoo, but it IS your job. When I was the receptionist, it was my job, and upon my abdicating the front desk throne, the privilege of filing was bestowed upon you.

I’ve never been so grateful for a break. And you know what, the Shopping Angels must have been looking out for me , because I found some cute undies that say “I’m every nerd’s dream”.

Hey, don’t laugh—I’m at lest one nerd’s dream. Or nightmare, depending on how you look at it.

That sounds slightly pervy to me for some reason. I hope everyone had a nice/fun/rowdy/whatever-floats your-proverbial-boat kind of 4th of July. Geek Boy and I stayed home—we played Lego Indiana Jones all day and watched the fireworks display at the country club from our backyard in the evening. The following day was the little SIL’s bday so we headed to his ‘Rent’s place where we proceeded to play Lego Indiana Jones and Guitar Hero. See, kids, this is how you spend your holidays when you marry a video game geek. And here I thought there would be no glamour.

So, back to the slicker. It was one of those crap-not-raining-but-pouring weekends. I felt like the Morton’s Salt kid. (Did she even have a slicker? If she didn’t, she should have.) First, our Refugees From Thunderdome neighbors were out in full force. They remind me of the Peacock family from the “Home” episode of the X Files. Seriously. Google them if you haven’t seen the episode. Ugly people should not breed—-it’s just bad news all around. And since it wasn’t bad enough that we had to see the Peacock men folk shirtless, our garage door opener died. It made a weird grinding noise and that was it. It probably committed suicide from being exposed to the shirtless Peacocks. Then, after the demise of the garage door opener, the air conditioner followed suit. Maybe it was a murder-suicide.

Fucking Peacocks….they drove my electrical gadgets to a sad end.

I’ll never forget the time a former classmate told my cousin there was a rumor going around that she had gotten hit by a bus. Her greeting was something like “Patty! I heard you died!” Anyway, lest rumor start circulating about my demise, I’m going to nip them in the bud. I’m still here. I know I haven’t posted (even after the whole “I’m totally gonna post!” thing) so I’m going to blame my job for the lack of communication. They’re got me not only trying to find jobs for people, but teaching computer classes. Me. Teaching. A. Class. WTF? It’s like the blonde leading the blonde—err, blind, I meant blind. (No I didn’t!) Don’t they know that cuts into my blogging time? Bastards! Real post to come. I swear!

I wish I had time to write a real post. It seems like whenever I have some time to write, the phone rings, a client shows up, or there’s a threat of nuclear war. Sheesh.
